Google Earth comes in handy for something other than looking at other peoples' houses! Yes, scientists in Germany discovered, using Google Earth images, that cows grazing in the field tend to line up north-south as if they had compasses in their heads.
The LA Times is all over this story although they admit it probably has no useful application. Who cares? If you are a cow lover, as all right minded people are, it's just... cool.
